Inside Sales Coordinator

POSITION SUMMARY

Located in downtown Vancouver, Matthew McCormick Studio (MMS) designs and produces decorative, high-end lighting products and bespoke installations. We are a global lighting brand represented throughout Europe and North America, working with internationally recognized architects, interior designers and their clients.

We’re on the lookout for a motivated admin superstar who loves to learn new things in a fast-paced environment. The Inside Sales Coordinator is someone who genuinely enjoys finding ways to connect with new people and has fun getting into the details of the day to day—a key player in keeping us on track to reach our monthly goals.

The Inside Sales Coordinator enjoys a little pressure to get the job done. They can adapt with evolving priorities and make sound decisions that support the broader team, while enjoying the diversity in day-to-day tasks. They confidently communicate to clients (and potential clients) with ease, both over email and sometimes on the phone. As a self-starter that works well both independently and in a [super fun] team environment, having an interest in design and/or interiors would definitely work in your favour!

MAIN DUTIES

Your core responsibility is to execute outreach and engagement initiatives for the MMS sales portfolio, in addition to administrative tasks in support of business operations.

SALES SUPPORT

  • Conducts regular sales outreach to reach our weekly “engagement” goals for the sales team, starting with introductory emails to the MMS brand

  • Responsible for booking follow ups to client engagements; ie. in-person meetings for sales team leads, sending physical sales kits and samples, etc.

  • Researches and suggests new client lists for outreach based on direction from sales team (ie. specific to target markets, client categories, project types, warm leads from marketing, etc.)

  • Helps assemble and organize physical mailer campaigns for special projects and initiatives (ie. tradeshow invites, client appreciation, etc.)

  • Responsible for timely follow up communication with clients at specific stages post-sale, including lead time/delivery delays, project check-ins for photos, etc.

  • Effectively enters detailed and accurate lead and prospect information in the ERP system (NetSuite)

ADMIN SUPPORT

  • Transfers warehouse data and photos into ERP following warehouse Quality Control process

  • Conducts CERS filings, as required - an online submission to Canada Border Services Agency for goods exported from Canada

  • Scans monthly paper receipts for bookkeeper and conducts some billing reviews at month-end

  • Reviews and updates marketing contact lists based on up-to-date client information

  • Supports Accounts Payable in reviewing and scheduling bill payments, as required

SKILLS

  • Computer literacy with experience working in Microsoft Office, Monday.com and NetSuite (or similar ERP/database driven system)

  • High level of email and phone etiquette; comfortable in communicating a clear and concise message, leaning into their own personal flair as warranted!

  • Attention to detail, and the confidence to move quickly by understanding which tasks are better “done” than perfect

  • Proactive and self-motivated to achieve weekly, monthly and quarterly goals as set by the sales team

  • Ability to collaborate, adapt and prioritize in a fast-paced environment where we are open to learning, okay to fail (fast – move on!) and lean on each other for support

EXPERIENCE

  • 1-2 years of sales, customer service or related experience, dealing with a range of client types and service expectations

  • Post secondary education preferred

  • Previous experience with shipping and logistics and/or interior design considered an asset

OTHER REQUIREMENTS

  • Vancouver-based with a possible hybrid schedule, based on the scheduled tasks

  • Role is part-time with 2 to 3 days of work per week currently available (8 hours/day, 8:30 – 5:00 pm), set based on candidate’s availability and schedule

  • Must be legally allowed to work in Canada

  • $23 - $27/hour based on level of experience

Matthew McCormick Studio is a multi-disciplinary design studio based in Vancouver, Canada that produces high-end lighting products and artistic installations distributed around the world.

Founded in 2013 by Matthew McCormick, the Studio designs, manufactures and retails McCormick’s own lighting collections. In addition to creating bespoke, sculptural work, all of McCormick’s products are made by a network of talented artisans and craftspeople. Balancing handcrafted processes with modern techniques, his design aesthetic is a pursuit of excellence in minimalism.

Job Types: Part-time, Permanent

Pay: $23.00-$27.00 per hour

Expected hours: 16 – 24 per week
